Employees earning less than $18.00 an hour also get overtime for work over 8 hours in a 24-hour period. **Holiday pay under federal law.** For Nevada employers, federal law (the FLSA) doesn't require pay for holidays that aren't worked. Holiday pay is a matter of agreement between the employer and the employee. **Holidays that fall on a weekend.** Federal offices observe Saturday holidays on Friday and Sunday holidays on Monday. **Unused vacation when someone leaves.** Nevada employers may, but are not required to, pay out unused available paid leave when employment ends. If an employee who didn't leave voluntarily is rehired within 90 days, that unused paid leave must be reinstated.
