Create one for each group with different rules. ## Decide First - How many Locations? One for each group of people who share the same holidays, workweek, time zone and leave rules. Two offices with the same rules can share one Location. - When does the leave year reset? On your Accounting Year (you pick the Fiscal Year Start month and day), or on each person's User Employment Date. - How long is a workday? Half-day leave is only available on an 8-hour workday. ## Create the Location - In the left-hand menu, under Leave Setup, click Locations, then Create a Location. - Select the Country. If the country has regions, you can also pick a province, state or region, or leave it blank for national holidays only. Vacation Tracker shows how many public holidays the Location will follow. - Check the Name and Time zone. They're filled in from the country, and you can change them. - Optionally, add Users now. You can also do this later. - Under Make This Location Default, choose Yes if all new team members should be added to this Location automatically. - Set the Workweek, Week Starts on and Length of Workday. - Set Fiscal Year Start and Leave Quota Reset Based On. - Click Create Location. ![Create Location form with Country selected, showing the optional region field and the public holidays note](https://cms.vacationtracker.io/uploads/admin_training_email_only_set_up_locations_holidays_and_workweek_1_ca3b54594a_25774beb0b.png) ## Check the Holidays Open the Location and go to the Holidays tab. Check both the current year and next year. To add a day off that isn't on the list, use Add a Holiday. Import Holidays is also available on the same tab. One more step before anyone can request leave Users can't request leave in a new Location until it has a Leave Policy. That's the next article. ![Holidays for the new Location, with its public holidays listed](https://cms.vacationtracker.io/uploads/admin_training_email_only_set_up_locations_holidays_and_workweek_2_56dea894ae_b9472627ad.png) ## Check It Worked - The General tab shows the right country, workweek, time zone and leave year. - The Holidays tab lists the right holidays for this year and next year. - The Users tab lists the people who belong there. ## Common Questions What does the default Location do?All new team members are added to the default Location automatically. You can move them to another Location at any time. Can one person work a different week from the rest of their Location?Yes. Set a custom workweek on that user's profile, under Working Days. Use this for exceptions, not as a replacement for a separate Location. ### What's Next?
