# User Training 6: See Who's Off and Upcoming Holidays (Slack)

Check who's away and which holidays are coming up before you plan your own time off.

## On Your Dashboard

- Team Availability: who from your Department is off today, on the next working day and next week. Pick another Department from the list to check it.

- Upcoming holidays: the next public holidays for your Location. Click See all for the full list.

## Calendar and Wallchart

- Calendar: leave and holidays by month, or as a list. Filter by Locations, Departments and Labels. Leave shorter than a full day shows as a striped block.

- Wallchart: a timeline of who's off, person by person. Turn on Pending request to include requests that aren't approved yet. If you don't see it in your menu, your Administrator hasn't turned it on for you.

## Holidays

Click Holidays in the left-hand menu. Switch between this year, next year and Past holidays.

## In Slack

Type /vacation and click See more options. Under See which team members are away, choose Today, This week, Next week, This month or Next month. Click Show Holidays for the upcoming holidays.

## Check It Worked

You know who's off on the dates you want and whether a holiday falls in that time.

## Common Questions

Why don't I see everyone in the company?Your Administrator decides how much of other people's leave you can see.

Do holidays use up my leave?No. Public holidays for your Location aren't counted as leave days.
