We are introducing the concept of Leave Types into Vacation Tracker
Vacation Tracker is the easiest way to track your team’s vacations and days off. Teams around the world can testify to that. We’ve been receiving quality feedback since we launched, are more than happy to announce that we’re introducing the concept of Leave Types into Vacation Tracker as one of our most requested features.
The three types of requests Vacation Tracker had were Vacations, Days Off and Half Days. As of now, administrators will be able to create up to 24 additional leave types and set policies for each of them through the administrator dashboard.
“Vacations, Days Off and Half Days” will remain as the default leave type and it cannot be deleted, however, you now have some new options to choose from.
Create and Configure Leave Types
Through the Settings page the administrators can make any necessary changes and save or delete the selected Leave Type. Only Vacations, Days off and Half-days cannot be deleted.
Request Time Off Easily
Team members can make requests through the dashboard or the Vacation Tracker bot, by simply typing “/vacation” in the chosen Slack channel, and selecting a leave type.
Approve Requests In a Few Simple Steps
Administratos can easily approve requests through the administrator dashboard or directly in Slack. Administrators will receive a notification as soon as a team member requests vacation letting them know which leave type the person is requesting.
The Importance of Leave Types
When we created Vacation Tracker, it had a lot of great features. However, with you’re feedback we’re making our product better one day at a time. One of our most requested features has been the ability to log absence types other than vacations and days off, and that’s why we’re proudly introducing the concept of Leave Types.
With Leave Types, team members can request time off even easier, and administrators will save valuable time. Administrators can manually set policies for each Leave Type, and with that being said, they can make various Leave Types automatically approved. For example, if working manually is something your company approves, and employees don’t need to wait for your response, they can simply request “working remotely” and it will be automatically approved.
