The employer may ask the employees to work during public holidays in return for two times the daily payment.
PTO (Paid Time Off)
- Vacation/Annual Paid Leave
Employees are entitled to 21 days of paid annual leave per year if they have been employed for at least 6 consecutive months. Employees who have completed 10 years of consecutive employment or employees over 50 years of age are entitled to 30 days of paid annual leave.
- Casual Leave
Employees are entitled to up to six days off from work per year and are not required to state a reason for taking the leave. Employees are entitled to take a maximum of 2 days per leave. Casual leave counts as part of annual leave.

Leaves requests should be submitted and approved by the employer, and if the employees fail to carry out their leave, it may not be compensated or rescheduled.
- PTO payout at the termination
If the work relation was terminated before using the leaves balance, the employer is committed to paying the days untaken to the employee. The employer is obligated to pay compensation of no less than 2 month’s salary for each year that the employee served.
The employer has the right to deduct the number of days taken as annual leave, from the monthly salary if proven that the employee has worked at another employer during the leave.
Maternity Leave, Child Raising Leave, Parental Leave
Female employees who have been employed for 10 consecutive months are entitled to 90 days of paid maternity leave and 45 days following the birth of a baby.
Employees are entitled to take two maternity leaves during their employment service.
Upon return to the workplace, the woman is entitled to 2- half-hour nursing breaks or a combined hour each day for 24 months after the date of birth.
Employers who have more than 50 employees in the company are required to provide mothers with 24 months of unpaid leave for each child.
If the company has at least 50 employees, female employees are entitled to take up to 2 years of unpaid leave to take care of their child. This type of leave can be taken twice during the entire service of the employee.
Employees are entitled to up to 6 months of paid sick leave. Employees are required to provide a medical certificate to their employers.
- For the first 90 days of sick leave, employees are entitled to receive up to 75 percent of their regular pay.
- For the following 90 days of leave, employees are entitled to 85 percent of their regular pay.
- Employees can also convert their annual leave to sick leave.
Work-Related Injury Leave
In case of a temporary disability, employees are entitled to fully paid leave from the first day of injury until the employee is able to return to work or is declared permanently disabled.
Jury Duty Leave, and Voting Leave
Not specified by law.
Bereavement leave is not specified by law. However, employees are entitled to use their casual leave for this purpose.
If an employee is on a fixed-term contract and must undertake military service and returns after his contract ends, is the employer bound to reinstate him?
The employee or worker shall return to his job or work kept therefore if he so requests within thirty days from the day he is released from military service or the stay thereafter and within one week from the date of his release after the in-call for service.
He must be returned to work within sixty days from the date of submitting the request. The date of submitting the request shall be the date of his reinstatement at work.
