How Do I Submit a Feature Request or Report a Bug?

Two ways: email or live chat. The team reads everything — bug reports, feature requests, edge cases, even just a thank-you. There's no "official feedback portal" that gates input; it goes straight to the people building the product.

The Two Channels

📧 Email

Send your message to hello@vacationtracker.io. Best for detailed write-ups, screenshots, attachments, or anything you'd want a paper trail for. Email is monitored continuously and you'll get a reply during business hours.

💬 Live chat

Open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of any Vacation Tracker page — both the marketing site and the app dashboard have it. Click the bubble, type your question, and you'll be talking to a real human (not a bot) during support hours. Best for quick questions and back-and-forth troubleshooting.

The live chat is staffed Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Outside those hours the chat still accepts messages — you'll get a reply when the team is back online.

What's Worth Sending

The team explicitly invites all of these:

  • Bug reports — anything that looks broken, behaves unexpectedly, or doesn't match what the documentation says it should do. Screenshots and reproduction steps help a lot.
  • Feature requests — workflows you wish existed, settings you wish were configurable, integrations you wish were available. Even half-formed ideas are useful.
  • Confusing UI or unclear copy — if a setting's name or tooltip didn't make sense to you, that's worth flagging. Chances are others hit the same wall.
  • Documentation gaps — if you searched the helpdesk and couldn't find what you needed, mention which article would have helped. Articles get updated and added based on this feedback.
  • Praise — if something just works well, say so. The team likes hearing that too.

Tips for a Faster Resolution

If you want the support team to move quickly, the more context up front the better:

  • What integration are you on? Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, or Email Only — behavior can differ by integration.
  • What plan are you on? Core or Complete. Some features only exist on one or the other.
  • What were you trying to do? The User-side intent, not just the screen you were on.
  • What did you see vs. what you expected? Including the User name (or a screenshot) makes the problem reproducible on the team's side.
  • When did it start? If it used to work and recently stopped, mention the rough date.

New features are typically driven by patterns the support team spots across many requests, so submitting yours genuinely matters even if you don't see a public count next to it.

Yes. Email submissions get a human reply during business hours, usually the same business day. Live chat replies in the moment if it's during support hours; outside those hours, you get a reply the next business day. Either way, you won't be left guessing.

Yes — attach as much as helps. Screenshots of the broken state, a short screen recording, the User's profile, a screenshot of the Leave Policy involved, etc. The chat widget supports file uploads too. The more context, the less back-and-forth.
