How does TOIL work in Vacation Tracker?
Employees can request TOIL for days they have already worked overtime. For example, if an employee works extra hours on a specific day, they can log these hours in Vacation Tracker as TOIL.
Upon approval by their manager, these hours are added to the employee’s leave balance, allowing them to use the time off at a later date.
This system helps in accurately tracking overtime and ensuring that employees are compensated fairly with time off.
Future TOIL cannot be requested in advance because overtime has not yet been worked.
This policy ensures that TOIL is only given for actual hours worked, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the system.
Who Can Request TOIL?
Admins can configure Vacation Tracker to allow all users to request TOIL or restrict this function to admins and approvers. This setting can be adjusted based on company policies and requirements.
This flexibility ensures that the TOIL feature can be tailored to fit the specific needs and preferences of any organization.
The minimum duration for a TOIL request is one hour. This flexibility allows employees to take time off in increments that suit their needs, whether for a full day, half-day, or just an hour.
