We are thrilled to bring you another exciting article covering the latest and greatest improvements to Vacation Tracker.

This series gives you a clear and complete look at our new features and improvements. By staying updated, you can make the most of our platform and use the latest tools to your advantage.

In this Q2 2024 edition, we’re excited to cover several key updates that were made to Vacation Tracker, so you can better customize it to fit your needs:

  • Seniority Entitlement Add-on Improvements

  • Sub-Departments

  • Weekly Accruals

  • Redesign of the Add-ons page in the dashboard

  • Open API

Seniority Entitlement Add-on Improvements

Last quarter, we launched the Seniority Entitlement Add-on, and since then, we’ve made such significant improvements that it feels like an entirely new feature!

Key changes:

  • Flexible Calculation Start Dates: You can now choose to calculate entitlements starting from the beginning of the fiscal year.

  • Manual Editing of Seniority Entitlement Quotas: You can now manually add days to the seniority entitlement quota in the user profile before reaching the first milestone.

  • Retroactive Application of Seniority Entitlement: You now have the option to apply seniority entitlements from the user’s employment start date, in addition to the current option of starting from today.

Make it easy to honor your dedicated employees by automating the manual task of awarding tenure-based leave benefits.

Sub-Departments

Get more granular with your organizational structures by creating Sub-Departments within your Departments. Core plan users are limited to one level, while Complete plan users can reach up to four levels.

Notable benefits:

  • Better Organization: Break down larger departments into smaller, manageable groups.

  • Clearer Roles: Define the roles of employees more clearly, reducing overlap and confusion.

  • Streamlined Management: Make it easier for managers to oversee smaller teams and address specific needs or issues.

Weekly Accruals

With the introduction of Weekly Accruals, you can now set employees’ paid time off to accumulate every week. Now you have the freedom to choose from weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly accrual options to best fit your needs.

Notable benefits:

  • Better Tracking: Weekly updates make it easier to keep track of PTO accurately.

  • More Flexibility: Employees can take smaller, more frequent breaks, helping them balance work and personal life.

  • Faster Access: Employees get their earned time off more often, making it easier to plan and use.

With Weekly Accruals, managing and tracking paid time off policies has become more straightforward, especially for those on a weekly pay schedule.

Note that accruals are only available on the Complete plan.

Redesigned Add-ons Page

The Add-ons page in the dashboard has been updated with a more intuitive marketplace-like interface, making it easier for you to browse and purchase additional features.

Key changes:

  • Cleaner Interface: There are now two tabs that separate your purchased Add-ons from all available Add-ons.

  • Expired Subscriptions: Display cards for past subscriptions are now available, providing access to their history.

  • Future Glimpses: Get a preview of upcoming Add-ons or conveniently submit your own suggestions.

Open API

Vacation Tracker’s Open API is now open for business. Connect it with your existing systems for fast and effortless data transfer, enhancing your operational efficiency.

Key benefits:

  • Consistent Data: Keeps all employee information consistent and accurate across different systems.

  • Boost Efficiency: Minimize manual data entry and errors, improving overall operational efficiency.

  • Stronger Analytics: Make it easier to see and understand PTO usage patterns, leading to better management.
