You have the flexibility to set the exact number of days employees can transfer from one year to the next for each leave type (e.g., vacation, sick leave). This allows you to control how much time off can be carried over, which helps prevent excessive balances and makes sure leave policies are followed consistently. 

Employees can view their available brought forward days directly in their profile, so they can plan their time off accordingly without needing to ask HR or management.

Set a deadline for when brought-forward days need to be used, so employees don’t build up too much unused time off. This helps keep your leave policies fair and balanced. You can choose a deadline that works best for your team—whether it’s based on an employee’s work anniversary, the company’s fiscal year, or a custom date you set.

Sometimes employees may use more leave than they’ve accrued, and Vacation Tracker gives you the option to allow negative leave balances to carry over into the next period. 

When enabled, any negative balance will be deducted from the employee's leave entitlement in the new year. This option helps you manage leave policies more flexibly, particularly when employees need time off but haven’t yet accrued the full amount.
