Most 'free' leave trackers aren't free. They're 14-day trials with a credit card requirement waiting at the end. There are only three tools that offer real free plans with Slack and Microsoft Teams integration.
Here's which one you should pick based on what your team actually needs.
Watch the full breakdown:
AttendanceBot is best for tiny teams who track time

If you've got 5 people or fewer, AttendanceBot might be your pick. It bundles time tracking with leave management, which is useful if you're already tracking hours.
The catch? You're capped at 5 users. Once you hit person number six, you're paying. Also, you won't get accruals on the free plan. So if you need to automatically calculate how much leave people earn over time, this won't cut it.
But for a small team that needs basic leave requests and time tracking in one place, it does the job.
Jibble works for field teams who need GPS tracking

Got people working in the field? Jibble includes GPS tracking and timesheets, which makes it a solid pick for construction crews, delivery teams, or anyone who's not desk-bound.
The downside is that the interface is built for time tracking first. Leave management is there, but it feels like an add-on. If you're just trying to track vacation days and sick leave, you'll be navigating through features you don't need.
Still, if your team is mobile and you need location verification, Jibble's free plan is hard to beat.
Vacation Tracker is the best all-around option

This is where I work, so take this with a grain of salt. But the numbers don't lie: Vacation Tracker is the only tool on this list that lets you add unlimited users on the free plan. (n.b. the free plan was discontinued in 2026)
It's also the cleanest interface if all you want is leave tracking. No timesheets, no GPS, no extra features you'll never use. Just requests, approvals, and a calendar.
What you're giving up on free plans
Let's be honest. Free plans exist to get you in the door. You're not getting the full experience.
With AttendanceBot, you're stuck at 5 users, and you lose accruals. With Jibble, you get more features, but the interface prioritizes time tracking over leave management.
None of these are perfect. But they're actually free, which is more than most tools can say.
Pick based on your team's size and needs
If you've got 5 people or fewer and you track time, go with AttendanceBot. If you've got field workers who need GPS tracking, pick Jibble. If you've got more than a few people and you need proper leave tracking, just use Vacation Tracker.
