- Vacation/Annual Paid Leave
Employees are entitled to up to 30 days of paid annual leave accumulated over a period of 12 months on a 2.5 day basis. Depending on a collective bargaining agreement and employment contract, employees may be entitled to more than 30 days of leave. Rejection or renunciation of annual leave is illegal in Algeria. Employees are entitled to an extra day off if they work during the statutory holidays.
Employees in the southern provinces of Algeria receive 10 additional days of annual leave.

Employees are entitled to severance if they have worked for at least two years.
Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Parental Leave
Maternity Leave
Female employees are entitled to up to 14 weeks of fully paid maternity leave. Employees are required to take their maternity leave starting at least a week prior to the time the employee will be admitted to the hospital. Employees on maternity leave are entitled to a daily allowance that corresponds to their normal wage.
Paternity Leave
Male employees whose wives have delivered a baby are entitled to 3 days’ paternity leave paid by the employer. Employees are required to submit a written notice to their employer.
Sick Leave, Paid Sick Leave, and Family Care Leave
Employees are entitled to sick leave. The leave is paid from the first day of illness by an employer. Employees receive a portion of their salary during the first 15 days of absence due to illness. This increases after 16 days of being ill or if the employee is hospitalized.
Jury Duty Leave and Voting Leave (Leave due to Public Interest)

Bereavement Leave
An Employee is entitled to up 3 days of paid leave due to a death of one of the employee’s parents, children or brother/sister (as well as from his or her spouse), death of the spouse.
