PTO

Employees are entitled to paid annual leave. Employees are entitled to a basic period of regular leave of 15 working days per year. The length of the regular holiday for an employee under 18 years of age is 20 working days.

An employee due to his/her own request may enjoy their regular holiday in parts during the year concerned.

In addition to the basic period, employees working under normal working conditions shall be awarded additional leave days, considering the length of their record of service, and their working conditions as follows:

  • 6-10 years of work, 3 working days
  • 1-15 years of work, 5 working days
  • 16-20 years of work 7, working days
  • 21-25 years of work 9, working days
  • 26-31 years of work 11, working days
  • 32 and more years of work 14, working days

In addition to the basic period, employees working under abnormal working conditions in accordance with the collective contract shall be awarded additional leave days, considering the length of their record of service, and their working condition.

Rollovers and payout of unused hours

An employer shall pay to an employee whose agreement is terminated, severance pay in an amount equal to at least the employee’s average salary for one month.

Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Parental Leave

Maternity Leave

Female employees are entitled to up to 120 days of paid maternity leave.

It is prohibited to make a pregnant woman, mother of a child under 8 years of age, or a single mother of a child under 16 years of age without her consent, work at night, overtime or send her on assigned trips.

Besides the rest, food and regular break, an additional break of two hours to feed and take care of a child shall be provided to a woman with a child under six months of age or to a woman with twins under one year of age; and a break of one hour to a woman with a child between the ages of six months and one year or to a woman with a child who has reached one year of age, but needs special care according to a medical conclusion.

Adoption Leave

An adopting mother is entitled to equal leave as a mother who gives birth to a child until the child reaches 60 days old. This law shall equally apply to single fathers with a newborn child.

Leave due to a Stillbirth or Miscarriage

The maternity leave will be granted to a woman who has delivered a stillborn child or has interrupted a pregnancy with hospital methodology or had an abortion after the 196th day of pregnancy, or to a woman who has delivered a baby before 196th day which is capable of living premature child.

If a woman has a stillborn child or has interrupted a pregnancy with hospital methodology before the 196th day of pregnancy, the general regulation on granting sick leave shall be applied, and such leave shall be granted.

Sick Leave, Paid Sick Leave, and Family Care Leave

Sick Leave

Employees are entitled to take sick leave for as long as needed.

Child Care Leave

An employer shall grant baby care leave to a mother with a child under three years of age, who had maternity leave or annual leave, if she so wishes.

Jury Duty Leave and Voting Leave (Leave due to Public Interest)

Military Leave

Employers are required to pay severance pay to employees who have terminated their employment due to military service.
