How Do I Import Time Off in Lieu Balances?

If your team gets Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) for those extra hours or days worked, you can bring those balances right into the Vacation Tracker. That way your records stay spot-on — even if you’re kicking things off mid–leave year.
 
What “TOIL” Means in Vacation Tracker?

When employees put in extra hours, companies can give them Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) — basically adding those hours to their leave balance so they can take a break later. 

Importing Time Off In Lieu 

When setting up or adjusting records, you can import these balances. Instead of updating profiles one by one, use the Import section to upload all Initial Time Off in Lieu  balances at once. 

Note: Only Admins can perform this action, so double-check that you have Admin access before moving forward. Also, be sure all users, leave types, and approvers are already set up in your Vacation Tracker account before importing TOIL balances. 

Step 1. Go to the left-hand menu in Vacation Tracker and select the Imports section.
 
 

Step 2. Click on Import Time Off in Lieu.

Step 3. Download the template (CSV or Excel) and complete it with the required information, including the user’s email, Dates, length of TOIL, reason, and Approver email.
  
 

Step 4. Go back to the Imports section and open Import Time Off in Lieu. Then, click the purple Start Import button. 

 
Step 5. Follow the on-screen prompts to map each column from your file to the corresponding fields in Vacation Tracker. Review all details carefully before completing the submission. 

Step 6. Once submitted, you’ll see a confirmation page.
