Microsoft Teams : How Do I Add The Vacation Tracker Bot To Microsoft Teams?

Are you missing our Vacation Tracker Bot from your Microsoft Teams app? No worries, we can help you install it!

Here are the steps to use:

1. From your Microsoft Teams app, go to the bottom left-hand side and select the Apps icon

2. Search for Vacation Tracker in the search bar

3. Once you see the Vacation Tracker app click on the box to begin the setup

4. A new window will open and you want to make sure to click the drop-down arrow on the Add to a Team button

5. Click on Add to a Team in order to add the bot for everyone that is active within Vacation Tracker (and to be able to set and view notifications).

6. Select the team and the channel (you can select or type out the name of the team or channel) that your bot will be added to for future notifications. Vacation Tracker Admins can always update the channels and the notification settings through the online dashboard.

7. Once you are done, click on Set Up Bot to complete the setup

Once completed, you should be sent to the channel selected and there should be a small message letting you know that you have added Vacation Tracker to this team.

The Vacation Tracker bot will appear as a chat on the left-hand side of your Microsoft Teams app. You can enter Request Leave in the chat bar and our bot will respond :)

When downloading the bot, you can also select the Add for Me option to pin Vacation Tracker to the Microsoft Teams taskbar. This option allows you to easily access the Vacation Tracker bot from the taskbar!

You will see another option to Add to a Chat so that you can add the bot to a group chat for yourself, or any other individual member of your team. If this option is selected, you can type in the name of the group chat to add Vacation Tracker to:

And you’re all set! You can now request leaves, view notifications, and approve requests (as an Approver) within your Microsoft Teams app!
