Guide: Leave Duration

Sometimes you don’t need a whole day off—you just need a little time. That’s why we’ve introduced Shortest Leave Duration in Vacation Tracker! This feature lets you choose the smallest amount of time your team can take off for a specific leave type, whether it’s just 15 minutes, a couple of hours, or a full day. It’s all about giving your team the flexibility they need while keeping scheduling simple. 

Imagine someone on your team has a doctor’s appointment that only takes an hour. Instead of booking half a day off, they can now request just that one hour. This way, they still get the time they need, and you keep the schedule accurate without losing extra hours unnecessarily.

You will find this feature in Locations, Under the Leave Policies tab, where you can edit any leave type associated to that Location.

|| By default, half-day leave is available on both our Core and Complete plans. If you’d like even more flexibility, the option to set hourly (or 15-minute) intervals is available exclusively on the Complete plan.
