How to Enable the Negative Brought Forward?
Do you allow your Users to use more days from their Leave Quota than they already have, and now, your Users have a negative balance that you want to be settled with their next quota rest? The option to carry over the negative balance is what you need to set.
Here is how to do it:
Step 1. Log in through - app.vacationtracker.io/signin
Step 2. Select Settings > Location
Step 3. Select the Location where we will be enabling this option “View”
Step 4. Select Leave Policies
Step 5. Select Leave Type that should be edited
Step 6. Allow Negative Balance
This option lets you decide if Users can take more leaves than the set quota is.
If you don’t want your Users to carry over their negative balance into the next year, skip the steps bellow, until Step 9.
Step 7. Make sure that Brought Forward is enabled
If you need instructions how to enable the Brought Forward policy, use the following Helpdesk article as a guide: How Do I Set a Brought Forward (Rollover) Policy?
Step 8. Enable Negative Brought ForwardSelect Yes – If enabled, any negative balance will be carried over to the next period, reducing the Users’ new entitlement by the negative amount.
Select No – If disabled, any negative balance will be reset at the start of the new period.
|Important note, Users cannot have a negative balance, unless the Negative Balance is Enabled or if an Admin / Approver adds a leave, and the balance exceeds their yearly quota.
